Punishments better not happen because if I were a black man I'd like to be considered for my abilities not because of a requirement or threat. I do feel that Bowles and Bieniemy will be hired in the next year or two. It is troubling though that there are some retread white coaches that get a few opportunities before being ruled out as a head coach position for good. New coaches like Dan Campbell and Nick Sirianni that seem inept, unprepared and unqualified for the position.

idk but there sure seem to be some questionable hires this year. campbell sirianni and culley are all head scratchers for me. not sure any team is better off with those hires. bienemy and bowles should be the top 2 coaching candidates for any job at this point. im not sure there are better options out there at the moment

Maybe the NBA can adopt the same diversity procedures with white players ? Pretty lopsided representation in that league

How good would Bienemy be without that loaded offense? I like Bienemy but just saying having that roster would make most anyone look great

once you go down this path you can never win the numbers game

when it was 0 coaches they wanted 1, with 1 they wanted 3, with 3 they wanted 5, now 5 they want ?? and every number is prefaced with the word "just" as in "there are just ______ black coaches being interviewed"

7 upper management hires last year and "just 3" went to black men. they are now "just 5" black GM's

this Bieniemy thing is hilarious...an OC that doesn't call his team's offensive plays is a MUST hire? for what? They're actually upset Urban Meyer (16-17yr head coach, 3 time title winner, and changed the way football is played) got hired before a 3-yr OC that doesn't call offensive plays...sorry a "3-yr black OC that doesn't call offensive plays"... cause that's the important part here ;)

They also like to preface with 70% of the league is black and __% of the league is black coaches
They avoid the % of players to the % of the population
Then they want the % of coaches to be similar to the % of players and not population

the beinemy is based on the fact that he has been taught and learned under Andy Reid. Every Saban and belicheck coordinator gets plucked and hired bienemy is there as well. Patricia was never considered the defensive genius, it was belichek but Patricia got the job at Detroit because of the affiliation. I think learning offense under Andy Reid for so many years would make him more than qualified and someone I would want. In terms of the talent, yeah they are great but you can’t be the OC with Andy Reid for this long and be passed up many more times.

Not crying for black coaches to be hired,
im just saying bienemy ahould be at the top of most lists. Especially in front of those that were already hired this off season. He may also be smart enough to not want those jobs.

Bienemy does call plays for the Chiefs

Use Occam razor on that 1 though, he likely just doesn't interview well and it ain't exactly a secret which team he is calling plays for.

Goodell just gives the press what they wanna hear usually though, doubt NFL goes much further in making teams hire blacks. Dude said he was wrong about Kaep and that the NFL needs to do better and there has been no sign of anything BLM related all year pretty much.

Andy Reid calls the plays

Sporting News just did an article about how great he is and even conceded the dude don't call plays. That's like a quarterback that doesn't throw passes or a linebacker that won't tackle

Viewed independently of other options, Bieniemy has two possible knocks on his resume: He's never been a head coach, and he's never officially called plays in the NFL. Kansas City's play-calling duties fall to head coach Andy Reid

oh ok. I saw something recently that he was calling plays but it was more about how the process is delegated.

btw I'm not saying Bieniemy isn't worth a shot but when a group of people want to be upset that he lost out on a job to Urban Meyer they should punch themselves in the onions

no matter what praise Reid gives him it's a really bad look that he doesn't allow him to call plays when his predecessors, Matt Nagy and Doug Pederson, did...what he said don't mean shit if he doesn't trust his OC to do what the others were responsible for

Bieniemy as the poster boy for black HC not getting a chance is like Casey Anthony being the poster child of fantastic motherhood or Shaq as poster boy for free throw shooting expertise

Bieniemy had a rap sheet in college. I'm sure he is different person now but owners are very picky when a man is going to be the face of the organization. He has been a model citizen in the NFL so it shouldn't matter.

Interestingly, out of 14 GM/HC positions that were open four of them went to African Americans. One HC and THREE hires as GM which is being overlooked. Again Bieniemy and Bowles will be head coaches in the next year or two I'm sure. In the meantime they can pad their resume some more.

Unless Mahomes, Hill and Kelce comes along as a package deal, I wouldnt touch any coaches from the offense from KC.

Josh Mcdaniels sucked without Brady too (or Charlie Weiss)

The Jets (T.B.) and the Chargers were punished for hiring a black coach.

I like the Jets prospects with Saleh. He is highly regarded and recommended. I like what he has planned for the Jets from what I saw at the press conference upon being introduced. Interesting that Saleh a man of color is considered black by a white guy like Spackler. Meanwhile the African American community doesn't consider him as a black hire.
